Municipality of Ariana Launches Crackdown on Unauthorized Occupation of Public Spaces
The municipality of Ariana conducted a large-scale operation on Wednesday to combat the anarchic occupation of public roads and the abusive exploitation of sidewalks, resulting in the seizure of several shipments of goods and equipment.
According to a statement published on its official Facebook page, the operation led to the seizure of the contents of five vans carrying used clothing, as well as a quantity of fruits and vegetables being sold irregularly. Municipal agents also seized the contents of two heavy trucks transporting iron and wood materials, in addition to equipment intended for the installation of informal stalls.
The municipality emphasized that this intervention is part of its ongoing efforts to enforce existing regulations and protect the public domain. It reaffirmed its "constant commitment to ensuring respect for the law and preserving everyone's right to organized and equitable use of public space," according to the statement.
