Gaza Government Media Office Confirms Recovery of 11 Palestinian Bodies

The Gaza Government Media Office confirmed today, Saturday, December 13, 2025, the recovery of the bodies of 11 Palestinians who died as a result of the collapse of buildings caused by the severe atmospheric depression hitting the Gaza Strip.

Key Statistics

  • 11 Palestinian bodies recovered
  • 1 person reported missing
  • Estimated losses: $4 million
  • Over 250,000 displaced people affected
  • 1.5 million people living in tents and rudimentary shelters

The Office also reported on the estimated losses and called for the entry of rain-resistant mobile homes. During a press conference in front of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Bureau, stated that the ongoing "Biron" storm, which started on Thursday, has affected over a quarter of a million displaced people living in nearly 1.5 million tents and rudimentary shelters that do not provide minimal protection.

Situation on the Ground

Al-Thawabta explained that Civil Defense teams recovered the bodies of 11 Palestinians from under the rubble of around 13 buildings that had been previously bombed by Israel during the war of extermination and collapsed due to the rain and depression conditions. He added that teams are still searching for a missing person under the rubble of the collapsed buildings, without mentioning the number of deaths due to the freezing cold, which medical sources had estimated at 3 cases, all of them infants and children.

Previous Reports
