Remarkable Increase in Algerian Tourists Visiting Tunisia

The Regional Commissioner for Tourism of Tabarka-Aïn Draham, Aïssa Marouani, announced that the three land border posts in the Jendouba governorate (Melloula, Babbouch, and Jalil) have recorded a significant increase in the number of Algerian visitors during the first eleven months of 2025.

Key Statistics

  • 1,413,199 Algerian tourists crossed these border posts, compared to 1,136,834 during the same period in 2024.
  • This represents a 24.31% increase in the number of visitors.

Positive Impact on Tourism and Economy

Aïssa Marouani highlighted that this trend has had a very positive impact on the revival of the tourism sector, while also stimulating local economic activity, particularly in handicrafts and tourist transportation.

Improving Services for Visitors

The Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with the relevant authorities, is working to improve services at all border posts to facilitate the arrival of Algerian visitors. This includes:

  • Strengthening information and orientation offices to support tourists and provide them with all the necessary information to stay in various Tunisian destinations under the best conditions.
