The event was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, a representative from the German Embassy, the Chief of Cabinet Afef Chachi Tayachi, the Director General of the pole Tarek Ferjani, the President of the Tunisian Federation of Textile and Clothing, Haithem Bouajila, as well as former directors of the pole and numerous entrepreneurs based on the site.
Honoring Pioneering Enterprises
On this occasion, the first companies installed in the pole and its affiliated industrial zone were honored. These companies, active in technical textiles, automotive components, and food industries, illustrate the pole's driving role in local industrial development.
Minister's Address
In her speech, the Minister highlighted that the Monastir-El Fejja pole has, since its creation, contributed to attracting investments in various industrial sectors while providing technical and strategic support to industrialists, project leaders, and business leaders. She praised the quality of services offered, particularly through the Center for Technological Resources and the Center for Intelligent Industry.
Key Role in Textile Sector Development
The pole has played a central role in the development of the textile sector, enabling Tunisia to become the main European supplier of professional clothing, with over 9.7 million pieces exported, worth nearly one million euros. The country is also the fourth-largest European supplier of denim products, with a market share exceeding 8%.
Economic Impact and Performance
These achievements have contributed to strengthening the industry's position in the national economy, supporting environmental transition, and increasing Tunisian competitiveness in international markets. Since 2010, annual textile exports have reached nearly 7 million dinars and are expected to exceed 7.5 million dinars by the end of the year.
Infrastructure and Services
The Monastir-El Fejja pole comprises a business incubator, a 4.0 intelligent industry center, a technological resource center, open laboratories and analysis facilities, as well as four industrial zones. It currently hosts 56 companies, generating around 11,000 jobs, while 203 companies have acquired industrial plots and 28 others plan to launch new projects.
Support for Start-ups and Industrial Transition
The pole has also supported 60 start-ups, with 90% continuing their activities, and accompanied 50 industrial companies in their transition to 4.0 intelligent industry, helping them manage environmental, energy, and industrial property aspects.
Partnership Agreement
Finally, a partnership agreement was signed between the Tunisian Federation of Textile and Clothing, the Monastir-El Fejja pole, and the Textile Technical Center, aiming to strengthen the sector's competitiveness, attract more investments, and support Tunisian industrialists and companies.
