Monastir Faculty of Medicine to Open First National and Regional Mental and Physical Health Center

The Monastir Faculty of Medicine is set to launch a pioneering mental and physical health center, the first of its kind at the national and regional levels. This innovative project aims to provide specialized training to future doctors.

The Dean of the Monastir Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Charafeddine Amri, emphasized in a statement to the TAP agency that this center meets the needs of medical students and graduated doctors, particularly those practicing primary healthcare, as well as specialized fields like plastic surgery and physical rehabilitation. "Beyond the traditional faculty amphitheaters, classrooms, and laboratories, medical students will find themselves at the heart of a modern educational environment, supervised by highly qualified specialists. This center will offer them a unique opportunity to acquire practical training in areas that go beyond textbooks and programs," he said.

Students will also benefit from detailed explanations and specialized advice on psychological and physical health aspects, reflecting a growing trend to promote overall health in the Tunisian medical training landscape, according to him. Dr. Charafeddine Al-Amri explained that medical training today requires innovative initiatives that contribute to shaping a generation of doctors capable of addressing the increasing challenges in the healthcare sector.

He added that the center will be an important starting point for continuous training, not only for graduates but also in the context of scientific research in various medical specialties. The Mental and Physical Health Center is a multipurpose facility equipped with the latest specialized medical equipment in fields such as cosmetics, fitness, and weight loss using cutting-edge technologies.

The center will enable students and doctors to train in aspects such as improving physical condition, treating muscle tension and cramps, and acquiring skills in new techniques for measuring eye pressure, as well as auditory and visual tests.

In conclusion, the Dean of the faculty affirmed that this initiative is part of a broader vision to strengthen communication between the academic institution and the outside society, whether it be students or public institution officials. This is the current work of the faculty as a university establishment offering regional, national, and even African training.
