Economic Expert Predicts 10% Increase in Salaries in Tunisia by 2026
Economic expert and university professor Moez Soussi indicated on Friday that "the salary mass in Tunisia will increase by at least 10% during the year 2026." Soussi explained, during his appearance on the "Sabah El Ward" show on Mosaïque FM, that "the proposed budget for 2026 will be around 79,627 million dinars, which is an increase of 1.7% compared to 2025," confirming the possibility that "a dynamic will occur at the budget level to cover the 10% related to salaries." Soussi specified that "approving a salary increase in the public and private sectors does not mean that employees will receive this increase as of January 2026," emphasizing that "approving a salary increase does not cancel social negotiations." Soussi also indicated that "the volume of debt repayment will decrease during 2026," confirming that "the debt rate will also decrease over the next few years."
