Military Education and Sports Administration Organizes Semi-Marathon in Tunis
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Military Education and Sports Administration of the Ministry of National Defense organized the "Military Semi-Marathon" on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis, marking the 70th anniversary of the creation of the National Army. The event saw the participation of both military and civilian runners.
On this occasion, Minister of National Defense Khaled Sehili emphasized in a statement to the National Radio the importance of the role played by the military institution in training athletes in various individual disciplines.
The minister also highlighted the importance of the titles and honors won by Tunisian military sports, which bring honor to Tunisia in regional and international competitions.
"The military semi-marathon is part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the creation of the National Army. It is a sporting event that has seen a large turnout and has brought together civilian and military athletes, reflecting the confidence in the military institution, which is accustomed to organizing such events," said the Minister of National Defense.
From his side, the Director of Military Education and Sports, Colonel-Major Ahmed Ben Salah, stated that the administration is currently preparing several upcoming competitions, including the World Military Games, which will take place in the United States in 2027, as well as the Mediterranean Games in the summer of 2026.
