Finance Minister Confirms No Supplementary Budget for 2025
The Minister of Finance, Michkat Salama Khaldi, confirmed today, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, during a joint session dedicated to monitoring the execution of the state budget for 2025 until the end of September, that there will be no recourse to a supplementary finance law during the current year.
Salama explained, during her participation in a joint session of the Finance and Budget Committees of the People's Representative Assembly (ARP) and the National Council of Regions and Districts (CNRD), that a state budget deficit of -9,641 million dinars (M TND) is expected, excluding donations and confiscations, representing 5.6% of the updated Gross Domestic Product (GDP), compared to -10,150 M TND, or 5.5% of the estimated GDP in the initial Finance Law for 2025, and -6.4% recorded in 2024, thus remaining within the level estimated by the 2025 Finance Law.
She also indicated that trade exchanges recorded, until the end of September, a stability of exports and an increase in imports of 5.4%, until the end of September 2025. Additionally, she mentioned the recording of a growth rate of 3.2% and a decrease in the unemployment rate to 15.3% during the second quarter of the current year.
