Bizerte Prosecutor’s Office Orders Detention of Three Teenagers Suspected of Arson at Menzel Jemil Secondary School
The Bizerte prosecutor’s office ordered, on Wednesday, March 11, the placement in police custody of three students aged 16 and 17 who are suspected of deliberately setting fire to three administrative offices at the Menzel Jemil secondary school.
According to a security source cited by Radio Diwan FM, the incident occurred during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, causing material damage to furniture, equipment and administrative files, including those in the principal’s office.
Security forces and civil protection units arrived on the scene at dawn to control the blaze and assess the damage.
Investigations launched on Wednesday afternoon enabled authorities to identify and apprehend the suspects, who are students of the school. The prosecutor’s office has decided to keep them in detention for the purposes of the investigation, pending their appearance before the courts.
