Prostate Cancer Awareness Day Organized by Mégrine Chaker Sports Club

The Mégrine Chaker Sports Club organized a prostate cancer awareness day on Sunday at the Ben Arous athletics stadium, offering free consultations for hypertension and diabetes. The event was held in partnership with the "Platine" association for information and under the supervision of the regional health directorate.

The club's vice-president, Boujemaa Tekia, indicated that this initiative is part of the "Blue Month" dedicated to prostate cancer prevention. The goal, he specified, is to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of physical activity in prevention, particularly among seniors, by encouraging them to adopt regular and supervised sports practices.

Urologist Moncef Ben Khsib emphasized the importance of early detection, highlighting that symptoms such as frequent nocturnal urination or difficulty urinating are warning signs that allow for rapid treatment and control of the disease before complications arise.

The president of the "Platine" association, Mohamed Hassanine Ayadi, stressed the central role of information campaigns in promoting the culture of screening and prevention of serious diseases. The association intervenes with the inhabitants of Mégrine through media support and sessions led by doctors and specialists.

In addition to raising awareness about prostate cancer, the day also allowed the public to receive free consultations to screen for hypertension and diabetes.
