The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received Mr. Khaled Shili, Minister of National Defense, yesterday, December 2, 2025, at the Carthage Palace.
Discussion of Key Projects
During this meeting, several projects supervised by the General Directorate of Military Engineering were discussed, including, in particular, the project ordered by the Head of State concerning the dredging of the Medjerda wadi at the level of the cities of Batten, Jdeida, and Kalaât El Andalous, over a distance of 91 km, with a water flow rate of 600 m³ per second, to eventually reach 800 m³ per second.
Instructions for Expedited Completion
The Head of State also gave instructions to lift all obstacles in order to finalize the work as soon as possible.
Restoration of the Aghlabid Feskia
The President of the Republic also mentioned, during this meeting, the progress of the restoration work of the Aghlabid Feskia in Kairouan, after the complete restoration of the walls of the Aghlabid city.
