National Council of the Medical Association to File Complaint Against TV Show
The National Council of the Medical Association has announced that it will officially file a complaint against the TV show Al Wahch Promax, broadcast on the Al Hiwar Ettounsi channel, for promoting unscientific practices claiming to cure cancer using herbs and non-medical methods.
Scientifically-Proven Treatments
The Association emphasized that cancer treatment relies on specific medications and therapeutic protocols prescribed exclusively by specialized doctors, whose effectiveness has been scientifically proven.
Denouncing Misleading Content
In a statement, the President of the Association denounced "content broadcast without scientific supervision or prior warning, likely to deceive the public and delay the diagnosis or treatment of serious diseases." She added that "these practices are in contradiction with the principles of evidence-based medicine and the ethical obligations provided for in the medical code of ethics, particularly with regard to public protection and the fight against charlatanism."
Importance of Scientifically-Validated Information
The Tunisian Medical Association stresses the importance of informing the public only about treatments validated by science to ensure the safety of citizens. By doing so, the Association aims to protect the public from misleading information and promote reliable healthcare practices.
