Two Tunisias: One that Works and One that Denigrates

When we follow, by chance, what the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) is regularly publishing as new measures to revive the economic machine, and when we witness the systematic daily denigration by pseudo-opponents of what is being undertaken in the country, under the regular supervision of the Head of State, we are entitled to say that there exist, today, two Tunisias. There is the Tunisia that works and the Tunisia that denigrates everything.

The Gap Between Those Who Work and Those Who Hinder

Between those who work, advance, and continuously rectify and correct errors, and those who prevent others from producing, sow obstacles, and imagine all possible stratagems to prevent the economic machine from running again, the gap widens day by day. Tunisians no longer need anyone to enlighten them or show them who is right or wrong.

Government Efforts and Syndicalist Reactions

When the government includes triennial salary increases (2026-27-28) in the 2026 finance bill and asks deputies of the Assembly of the People's Representatives (ARP) and members of the National Council of Regions and Districts (CNRD) to vote on these increases (even if the proposed rate is not final and could evolve, as announced by the Minister of Finance), syndicalists meet in a conclave in Hammamet to validate the announcement made in Morocco by Hfaïedh Hfaïedh, one of the loyal lieutenants of Noureddine Taboubi, revealing a general strike finally set for January 21, 2026, and not December 5, 2025, as previously understood.

Distinction Between Those Who Contribute and Those Who Obstruct

It is no longer very difficult for Tunisians to distinguish between those who deploy their intelligence so that the people can breathe and overcome difficulties with minimal material and human damage, and those who have not realized that their projects no longer interest anyone and that their return to managing the country's affairs, with the blessing of their sponsors, who are themselves in decline and continuously losing credibility in their own country, is no longer possible.

A Difference in Quality and Approach

There is a need to clarify that there is a difference in quality, if not biological, between the two groups. This difference is perceptible when reading the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT), which recently revealed in its November 4, 2025, edition that the Presidency of the Republic has taken new measures to further facilitate the creation of community agricultural or non-agricultural companies (the famous Charikat Ahlia) to encourage young investors even more. Several of these investors do not hesitate to denounce the blockages they encounter, particularly in the interior regions, when they launch their projects and sometimes when they express their intention to meet to collect the symbolic capital related to the founding of a company, even a family one.

The Need for Better Communication of Achievements

We will never tire of noting that the government, led by Ms. Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri under the daily supervision of the President of the Republic and his permanent concern to rectify errors in time, still has work to do in terms of publicizing its achievements. Simply because the era of silent workers who do not expect praise from anyone is over.
