National Council of Regions and Districts Approves 2026 Budget Law
The deputies of the National Council of Regions and Districts adopted the 2026 budget law in its entirety on Saturday evening, December 6, 2025, at the end of a plenary session that began the previous day.

Examination of the Bill's Articles
During the examination of the bill's articles, Finance Minister Mechkat Salama Khaldi expressed her rejection of the amendments introduced to articles 102 and 103, related to the retirement regime of Council members. She recalled that this regime falls under a specific legislative framework that cannot be integrated into a budget law, but must be defined by an ordinary law. The Minister confirmed her opposition to the maintenance of these amended articles.
Final Adoption
Before the final adoption, the deputies validated article 110, which sets the entry into force of the budget provisions on January 1, 2026, with the exception of two measures:
- Article 56, related to the pensioners' bonus
- Article 61, concerning the Fund for Encouraging Investment in Cinema and Audiovisual, whose application is postponed to January 1, 2027.
