The regulated sale of sacrificial meat by the kilo has commenced on Monday, May 18, 2026, in two designated points of sale: the first in Saïda (Manouba Governorate) and the second in Radès (Ben Arous Governorate). This initiative is overseen by the Groupement Interprofessionnel des Viandes Rouges et du Lait (GIVLAIT), in coordination with the relevant authorities.
According to a previous statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, the prices for live meat per kilogram have been set as follows:
- Less than 45 kg: 27,000 Tunisian Dinars (TND) per kilogram
- Between 45 and 65 kg: 25,800 TND per kilogram
- Over 65 kg: 23,800 TND per kilogram
The Groupement Interprofessionnel des Viandes Rouges et du Lait is urging all farmers and professional structures to participate extensively in these regulated points of sale. Additionally, the organization invites all citizens to visit these locations to purchase their sacrificial meat, as these spaces are subject to veterinary and regulatory control.
