Mosaïque FM has learned from an informed source that the Specialized Criminal Chamber for financial corruption cases at the Court of First Instance in Tunis has decided to reduce the amount of the financial guarantee required to respond to the request for conditional release filed by the lawyers of businessman Marouane Mabrouk on behalf of their client, to a value of 800 million dinars.

Background of the Case

This decision concerns the case filed against him, related to the decision made by the Tunisian government in 2017 to lift the freeze on his assets within the European Union. The case also involved the former General Director of Al-Karama Holding, Adel Garrar, as well as former ministers, including former Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and former Minister of State Domains, Mabrouk Korchid.
