Economic Control Team Seizes 7,150 Tons of Subsidized Hay in Manouba Region
A Regional Economic Control Team affiliated with the Manouba Regional Directorate of Commerce and Export Development has conducted a real seizure of 7,150 tons of subsidized hay for livestock from a food dealer in the El Battan delegation.
This operation, motivated by a breach of regulations on subsidies, is part of a joint regional control program with security units, according to data provided by the Manouba Regional Directorate of Commerce to the TAP (Tunis Afrique Presse) correspondent.
The seizure follows an inspection and control operation targeting food dealers for livestock and grain storage facilities (sédari) and hay. The inspection revealed that the owner of the storage facility in question deliberately sold quantities of subsidized hay through parallel channels, thus depriving his agricultural clients of their regulated quotas.
According to the services of the Regional Directorate, a written report will be drawn up against the offender for violating regulations on subsidies by trading a subsidized product in contravention of existing provisions. The required administrative sanctions will be imposed.
In addition, the seized merchandise will be reintroduced and resold through legitimate distribution channels, and its financial value will be paid into the public treasury.
