Mandatory Free Transfer of Iron-Containing Assets to El-Fouladh
The Ministry of State Domains and Land Affairs has made it mandatory for all public structures to transfer, free of charge, all movable iron-containing assets deemed unusable to the Tunisian Iron and Steel Company (El-Fouladh). This decree, published on Thursday in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT No. 118/2025, Decree No. 423), applies to ministries, local authorities, as well as public institutions and enterprises. In accordance with Article 2 of this decree, public structures are required to hand over unusable iron-containing assets to El-Fouladh free of charge. The company will be responsible for dismantling and cutting up these equipment. Furthermore, the concerned structures must conduct, as of the publication of the decree, a comprehensive inventory of the targeted assets in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of State Domains. The inventory report must be transmitted to the concerned ministry within a maximum period of one week following the completion of the operation.
