Tunisia's Cereal Harvest: A Positive Outlook

According to Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, head of the General Directorate of Agricultural Production at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, 12 million quintals of cereals were collected during the large crop season, while forecasts were at 20 million quintals. Invited to the "Youm Saïd" show on National Radio this Thursday, September 18, 2025, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane added that Tunisia's cereal needs are estimated at 36 million quintals, and that the collected quantities will have a positive impact on imported volumes. He also specified that the ministry and various stakeholders are fully prepared for the next season, whether in terms of supplying production inputs (seeds, fertilizers, agricultural equipment) or financing.
