National Volunteer Campaign for Cleaning Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites
As part of the national volunteer campaign for cleaning historical monuments and archaeological sites, launched by the Agency for the Development of Heritage and Cultural Promotion under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, a large-scale cleaning operation was organized in Mahdia. This initiative reflected the spirit of solidarity and citizen volunteering for a clean environment and preserved heritage. The action was carried out in collaboration with the National Heritage Institute, the municipality and delegation of Mahdia, as well as the regional education department. Several local associations participated, including the Asala Association for Heritage and Cultural Tourism, the Mediterranean Memory Association, the private cultural center Ciné Alpha, and Sidi El Kadidi school, alongside a group of environmental activists and civil society members. The activities were supervised by Tarek Abbouda, head of the regional office of the Heritage Agency for the Sahel, in the presence of officials from the Agency and the National Heritage Institute. This joint action illustrated the participants' commitment to citizenship, environmental responsibility, and the preservation of national memory.
