Man Arrested After Attempted Motorcycle Theft Ends in Ditch
A non-local individual was apprehended following a botched motorcycle theft attempt that took a dramatic turn when the perpetrator fell into a well in an agricultural area connecting Maamoura to Béni Khiar in the Nabeul governorate.
According to Soufiane Ben Salem, a member of the Maamoura local council, who appeared on Jawhara FM on Thursday, the suspect allegedly attempted to steal a motorcycle with an accomplice before being caught by local residents.
Immediately pursued, the two individuals attempted to flee. One of them fell into a well during the chase in the agricultural area.
Civil protection units intervened to rescue the individual, who was extracted from the well before being handed over to local security authorities.
According to the same source, the suspect confessed to the crime during questioning and provided information that helped identify his accomplice, who remains at large.
