From Tomorrow Evening, the Capital of Tunisia Will Pulse to the Rhythm of the First Artistic Events of the Holy Month
Starting Saturday, February 21, Tunis is set to come alive with the opening artistic manifestations of Ramadan.
For the 42nd edition of the prestigious Festival of the Medina of Tunis, celebrations will kick off in grand style at the Municipal Theatre.
- 22:00 – The audience will be treated to a performance by Zied Mehdi, who will present his show “Fi Ryadh Al‑Achikin” (In the Lovers’ Gardens), promising a musical journey deep into tradition.
At the same time, the charm of the old city will also be on display at the Tahar Haddad Cultural Club. Nestled in the historic lanes, the venue will launch its “Ramadan Nights” series with an evening devoted to Tarab, featuring the voice of Mohamed Ali Chebil.
A Cultural Surge
While the weekend marks the start of the festivities, the cultural buzz is expected to reach its peak in Tunis and the surrounding regions at the beginning of the second week of Ramadan. Artistic rendez‑vous will spread across numerous historic spaces, turning the city into an open‑air stage.

National Tunisian Theatre – From 5 to 10 March, the theatre will occupy Halfaouine Square for the 4th edition of “Tadjaliyat Al‑Halfaouine”, an event aimed at injecting fresh dynamism into public spaces while supporting living creation.

Médersa El Bachia – Between 6 and 13 March, it will host the 3rd edition of “Mahfel Room.” This original concept blends heritage with modernity, offering a rich program of concerts, creative workshops, and artistic installations.

Bardo Cultural House – Extending the excitement to the suburbs, the venue will present its own “Ramadan Nights” from 6 to 15 March. This series of performances, marrying creativity and authenticity, is designed to satisfy a diverse audience with varied artistic tastes, reinforcing culture’s role as a cornerstone of nightlife during the holy month.
