Central Anti-Narcotics Brigade in Ben Arous Seizes Major Drug Trafficking Operation
In a significant blow to organized crime, the central anti-narcotics brigade in Ben Arous, under the direction of the judicial affairs department, has successfully dismantled an active network in the Mahdia region specializing in the sale of illicit substances.
This operation is part of ongoing security efforts aimed at combating drug trafficking and dismantling organized crime networks.
According to a statement released by the General Directorate of the National Guard on Sunday evening, the operation led to the arrest of five network members, aged 24 to 66 years old. Approximately 2 kg of a white powder suspected to be cocaine were seized, along with an electronic scale, jewelry, two luxury vehicles, three motorcycles, and a significant amount of money believed to be proceeds from the criminal activity.
The public prosecutor has ordered the suspects to be held in custody, while two other individuals have been added to the list of wanted persons.
