Tunisian Table Tennis Federation President Confirms Disappearance of National Team Player

Boubaker Bouras, 25, Goes Missing in London

Mokhtar Toukabri, President of the Tunisian Table Tennis Federation, has confirmed the disappearance of national team player Boubaker Bouras, 25, who went missing on May 2, 2026, in London after Tunisia's participation in the World Team Championships for Seniors.

In a statement to the Tunisian News Agency (TAP), Toukabri revealed that the Federation was informed by national coach Mourad Sata that the player had left his accommodation without informing the delegation's leaders. This disappearance occurred after Tunisia's team was eliminated in the first round of the competition, as the group was preparing to return to Tunisia.

Upon confirmation of the player's absence, the Tunisian Table Tennis Federation immediately initiated steps to contact the Tunisian Embassy in London and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The relevant authorities were informed of the situation to ensure the case is being followed up.

According to Federation officials, no news of the player has been received to date, despite multiple attempts to make contact. The Federation asserts that it remains in communication with diplomatic and sports authorities to shed light on the disappearance.

The case has sparked intense concern within the Tunisian delegation present at the World Championships, while investigations and searches continue to locate the player.
