TRANSTU and Local Authorities Join Forces for Metro Station Cleaning and Maintenance
Joint Cleaning and Weeding Operations Held in Tunis
On Saturday, the Tunisian Transport Society (TRANSTU) collaborated with local authorities and civil society components to conduct joint cleaning and weeding operations between the Ibn Sina and El Kabaria stations on Line 1 of the metro.
Initiative Continues Previous Efforts
This initiative is part of a series of periodic initiatives previously conducted at the El Ouardia 6 and Cité El Nour stations. According to a TRANSTU statement, this activity falls within the framework of activating corporate social responsibility and promoting a culture of volunteering and citizen partnership.
Program Aims to Support Metro and Railway Network Maintenance
The program aims to support TRANSTU's efforts to maintain the cleanliness of the metro network and the Tunis-Goulette-Marsa railway line. It also aims to protect the environment around the stations, preventing fire risks and the accumulation of waste, including household waste, which continues to hinder the company's work.
TRANSTU Provides Necessary Tools and Equipment
To carry out this action, TRANSTU provided the necessary tools for cleaning works, while the Tunis municipality's sanitation department made available agents, a truck, and a mini-crane for waste removal. TRANSTU agents secured the area and guided volunteers within the designated perimeter for the activity.
Call to Action for Citizens
Finally, TRANSTU appeals to citizens to preserve the stations and their surroundings, emphasizing that cleanliness is a collective responsibility. The company also commends community initiatives that align with this participatory approach aimed at supporting safe and clean public transportation.
