Ministry of Youth and Sports Announces Subsidy for Ligue 2 Football Clubs
The first installment of the subsidy granted to Ligue 2 professional football clubs for the 2025-2026 sports season, amounting to 60,000 dinars, will be paid at the end of next December, announced Minister of Youth and Sports, Sadok Mourali.
Meeting with Club Presidents
On Thursday evening, the minister met with the presidents and representatives of Ligue 2 clubs, where he was informed of their concerns and the main issues they face. He emphasized the ministry's willingness to give special attention to smaller clubs, as they are the primary breeding ground for sports talent, a place for training young athletes, and essential support for Ligue 1 clubs.
Call for Good Governance and Fair Competition
Mourali took this opportunity to call for respect for the principles of good governance, to consecrate a spirit of fair competition, and to ensure fair and honest refereeing.
Main Challenges Facing Clubs
The main issues discussed included:
- Public financing of clubs
- Increased costs of team travel
- The state of stadiums and sports facilities in different regions
- The role of various parties in maintaining these infrastructure to ensure their sustainability
Previous Subsidy Payments
The ministry of Youth and Sports noted that the first and second installments for the 2024-2025 sports season have been paid to all clubs.
