Tunisian Professional Football League: Club Africain, US Monastir, and CS Sfaxien Secure Important Wins

The 21st matchday of the Tunisian Professional Football League saw several key matches take place on Sunday.

Club Africain Extends Lead at the Top

At Radès, Club Africain secured a convincing 3-0 victory over JS Omrane. Oussema Bouguerra opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, followed by Firas Chawat doubling the lead in the 59th minute. Ghaith Zaalouni sealed the win with a penalty in stoppage time (90+7). This win solidifies Club Africain's position at the top of the standings with 45 points from 21 matches, four points ahead of Stade Tunisien, who have a game in hand, and five points ahead of Espérance de Tunis, who have three games in hand due to their continental commitments. US Monastir Climbs to 5th Place

US Monastir also had a successful day, defeating ES Zarzis 3-0 at home. Malek Miladi scored the opening goal from a penalty in the 11th minute, followed by Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scoring another penalty in the 55th minute and adding a third goal in the 90th minute. This win propels US Monastir to 5th place in the standings with 36 points, while ES Zarzis, who suffered their second consecutive defeat, sits in 7th place with 26 points.

CS Sfaxien Returns to Winning Ways

At Ben Guerdane, CS Sfaxien ended their two-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over the hosts, courtesy of a successful strike by Rayane Derbali in the 59th minute. This away win allows CS Sfaxien to occupy 4th place with 39 points, six points behind the provisional leader. US Ben Guerdane, on the other hand, finds themselves in 11th place with 24 points, tied with CA Bizertin.
