A Balanced, Yet More Efficient Display
Without a cautious opening phase, both the Espérantistes and the Stadistes launched straight into an attack‑oriented game. The whistle blew and the first chance came almost immediately: Yan Sasse saw his shot cleared by the Stadistes’ defence in the 1st minute.
For the home side, it took seven more minutes before the visitors produced a genuine opportunity. In the middle of the pitch, Amath Ndaw lost the ball to Hamza Jelassi; however, Amadou N’Diaye kept the move alive, recovered possession and fired a weak effort that sailed just over the cross‑bar in the 8th minute.
Five minutes later the “Blood and Gold” responded. After a free‑kick taken by Moez Hadj Ali, Aboubacar Diakité rose highest, met the ball with his head, but again sent it well over the bar (13′).
Showing far more enterprise, the Espérantistes finally broke the deadlock. Operating down the right flank, Yan Sasse delivered a low pass to Mohamed Dräger, who, from the edge of the box, slipped a back‑heel to Houssem Tka. The latter unleashed a powerful strike that found the back of the net, leaving goalkeeper Noureddine Farhati helpless (21′).
Immediately after, Jacques Diarra missed a chance to double the lead when his shot struck the cross‑bar (22′). A few minutes later, Yan Sasse suffered a bout of bad luck: after recovering a mis‑controlled ball from Marouane Sahraoui, he faced the keeper one‑on‑one, only to see his shot smash against the right post (35′). The Espérantistes went into the halftime break with that one‑goal advantage.
“Nothing Serves to Run…” – Second‑Half Adjustments
At the interval, Said Saïbi introduced Amir Jaouadi for defensive midfielder Yusuf Touré, clearly aiming to revive his side’s fortunes. Further substitutions followed, but the “Blood and Gold” remained more determined than ever to secure all three points.
The Stadistes never generated a clear‑cut danger, often chasing the ball only to stumble in the final 30 metres. In contrast, the Espérantistes came close to doubling their lead twice:
- 70′ – Florian Danho’s shot was deflected for a corner by the Stadistes’ keeper.
- 90′ + 3 – In stoppage time, Ahref Jabri’s effort was likewise turned into a corner.
