A Glimmer of Hope for a Quick Turnaround
The draw against Ben Guerdane has rekindled hopes of a swift exit from the bottom of the standings. However, securing all three points against Métlaoui is crucial for a genuine sense of relief.
A New Challenge for Coach Skander Kasri
By taking the reins of an ASG team that has not won a match since the 3rd day (2-1 against ASM), coach Skander Kasri has set himself a daunting task: to try and get back to winning ways in the two away matches against USBG and ESM, in order to quickly turn things around. However, this objective seems overly ambitious for a team struggling to overcome its numerous shortcomings and get back on its feet. The match against USBG confirmed this, with only one point earned instead of the expected three.
A Disappointing Outcome
"My players had a good game, they gave it their all to consolidate their lead from the early minutes, but they failed to defend it until the end and were forced to settle for a bitter share of the points," admitted Skander Kasri. "The physical decline that occurred during the game made me realize the enormity of the task ahead to help them progress in this area."
A Daunting Task Ahead
Is it possible to recover from this intense physical exertion in less than a week and present themselves in better physical and mental shape to compete for a win that has eluded them in Métlaoui? Especially against a Bassin minier team that has just secured three points away from home against ASM?
Rebuilding a Collective Foundation
On paper, Carrelage has no shortage of experienced players and talented individuals. In defense, the four operational defenders are of high quality. Nour El Béji, who provided the assist for Ben Guerdane's goal, is a good right-back who fulfills his defensive and offensive roles well. The other three defenders, Mohamed Amine Naoui, Nessim Khedher, and Mohamed Abdourahmane, form an excellent axis of defenders. However, the absence of goalkeeper Abdelkader Chouaya, who has not been adequately replaced by Hamza Attig, weakens the defensive compartment.
Midfield and Attack
In midfield, Adem Boulila and Mohamed Amine Khadhraoui form a good tandem of offensive midfielders, providing quality balls to a trio of attackers composed of Hakim Tka, Fodé Traoré, and Hosni Guezmir. However, Carrelage's attacking play seems to be overly focused on Hosni Guezmir, relying too heavily on this center-forward as if the team's goals depend solely on his foot.
