Both Teams Earned Three Precious Points
In Métlaoui, ESM Settled for a Single Point After a break dedicated to the national team, the championship resumed yesterday. The first set of three advanced matches benefited notably the JSK and the ASSoliman. Two good wins for the two teams that did not dominate their opponents but managed to secure the essential in this early season: collecting points. One should not have expected great football, as the teams are still weakened by changes in personnel and precarious physical condition.
Disappointing Classic Match in Kairouan
The classic JSK-ASM match, back after years, was not pleasant. On the contrary, it was quite poor and monotonous despite three goals. Frankly, for two such prestigious teams, times have changed with average players gathered here and there. The JSK of Ghazi Ghrairi played less well than the ASM of Ameur Derbel, but the Aghlabides were more adept at taking advantage of their few strong moments.
The ASM let at least one point slip away in Kairouan. Kallou's goal in the 8th minute was not well maintained. And each time, a foreign player scores. The equalizer proved Junior's sense of goal, who was the first to cut the ball's trajectory, which was then deflected by a Marsois defender (29'). And when the ASM was pushing and missing at least two goals (two posts), the JSK, on a center from Liouane, found the gap with a beautiful header from Abdoulay Kanou, bringing back three points (73').
A good defensive performance by the JSK against a disturbed ASM sealed the fate of the match. This is the JSK's second win of the season, while the ASM fails to capitalize on the good volume of play created.
ASSoliman Wins with Difficulty
In Soliman, the ASS managed to win with difficulty against the OB. It took a good moment for the VAR to cancel the Béjaois' goal towards the end of the match. The OB made a lot of effort to come back into the match, but Mannoubi Haddad's goal (45') was enough for the locals, who can finally breathe. In Métlaoui, there was no winner between the ESM and the JSOmrane (goalless draw). One point each, but this suits the JSO more, as they gain a point from a perilous away trip.
Where is the VAR?
For a first, it was completely botched. And as the FTF, as usual, took things late, it was evident that the experience would not be successful. The VAR equipment arrived at the FTF the day before the matches. The experts who came to install it did not have enough time for usage tests. Only the Bir Bouregba stadium saw the VAR function, while in Kairouan and Métlaoui, the screen was not functional. Unfortunately, this should have been better prepared.
