USM Takes Down JSK with a 2-1 Victory
La Presse — Yesterday, at the Mustapha-Ben Jannet stadium in Monastir, the USM team led by Tarek Jarraya faced off against the JS Kairouanaise team led by Mounir Rached. The visitors sought to confirm their victory against Zliza, while the Blues aimed to regain their winning streak after a draw against ESM.
Notably, the USM coach, Jarraya, was without the services of key player Fabrice Zeguei, an Ivorian axial player, while the JSK captain, Harzi, was kept in reserve.
First Half
The match began without a warm-up, and the Aghlabides sparked the first flame with Salmane Lakhdhar scoring, but his goal was disallowed by Oussema Ben Ishak after a VAR review, following a signal from the central referee, Haithem Trabelsi, due to a handball foul.
The JSK attempted to surprise the Blues, but it was the USM who took the lead. In the 8th minute, following a decisive pass from Fakhreddine Ben Youssef, Mehdi Gannouni scored, putting the ball in the back of Krir's net. Boosted by this goal, the USM accelerated the pace and pushed forward. In the 15th minute, Moez Ali, the USM's playmaker, was close to doubling the score.
The USM maintained their high block, but the JSK did not give up. However, the JSK's attempts to counterattack left them exposed. In the 45th minute, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef took advantage of a precise cross to double the score, putting the USM in a comfortable position.
Second Half
After the break, the JSK advanced their block, but the USM remained in control of the game. As the game approached the hour mark, the USM's rhythm dropped, while the JSK applied pressure, albeit without success. Following four minutes of added time declared by Haithem Trabelsi, the USM secured the three points, despite Fraj Kayramani reducing the deficit with a goal that was again disallowed by the referee.
The USM emerged victorious, while the JSK suffered a defeat, despite showing a surge of dynamism towards the end of the match, which was insufficient to change the outcome.
