Each Protagonist Faces a Remote Duel This Afternoon
La Presse — At this stage of the competition, points now count double and duels between direct rivals can be played remotely. This is the case for the two advanced fixtures of the 23rd round that will pit ASSoliman against ESZ and ASG against JSOmrane.
- ASG is second‑to‑last in the table, only four points ahead of the bottom‑placed ASS. Both clubs are the first to be threatened with relegation, and their recent results do not work in their favour.
- ASG is still reeling from an away defeat in Sfax, while ASS lost in Sousse.
- This afternoon ASG enjoys the home advantage, but it inherits a stronger opponent – JSO, which comes into the match on the back of a victory.
On the other side, ASS cannot claim a home advantage either, as it will host ESZ at the Kram stadium. In truth, it is no coincidence that the Capbonian side sits at the very bottom of the standings.
Beyond financial difficulties, Soliman’s squad is disadvantaged compared with the other protagonists, having to travel from stadium to stadium to accommodate its visitors.
That said, JSO, currently 7th in the league, also leads a remote duel against ESZ, which sits 8th – just one point behind.
Each team undoubtedly hopes the other will stumble, but they must also avoid losing points against today’s opponent.
