ST Wins but OB Files a Complaint, Zliza and Cabistes End in a Stalemate
Three matches were played yesterday as part of the 21st round of L1.
Kairouan's Victory Over ESS
In Kairouan, after their win against AS Marsa at Chtioui, the motivated Aghlabides hosted Etoile du Sahel, a team also boosted by their recent derby win against USM. The Kairouanais quickly capitalized on their recent success, opening the score in the 20th minute with a goal from Malian attacker Abdoulaye Kanou. After taking the lead, JSK intelligently managed the game, and ESS ended the first half with a one-goal deficit to overcome. In the second half, JSK retreated, allowing Etoile to maneuver. However, 20 minutes from the end, Etoile's Mohamed Amine Ben Amor equalized with a beautiful shot. With everything to be done again for JSK, ESS attempted to "turn the tables" and succeeded in the final minutes with a goal from Maher Sghaier, assisted by Anen.
ST's Comeback Against OB
In Bardo, the match took time to gain momentum, and the opening score came from the Cigognes with a goal from Mohamed Hedi Hadouchi five minutes from the end of the first half. ST, stung to the quick, rushed forward, and Mohamed Amine Khemissi restored balance just before the break. The scenario repeated itself in the second half, with OB regaining the advantage through Houcine Gafsi in the 50th minute. The match heated up, and ST equalized again through their captain and axial player Marouen Sahraoui following a corner kick at the hour mark. Subsequently, ST was awarded a penalty, which Sénégalais Amadou Ndiaye converted, becoming the second-best scorer in L1 behind Firas Chawat. With this goal, and after an interminable match, ST came back from behind, but OB may win on the green carpet. Emmanuel entered the game late, and none of the four foreigners on the field were substituted. Although the Stadistes tried to rectify the situation, OB filed a complaint on the spot. ST risks losing the three points from yesterday.
Zliza and Cabistes End in a Stalemate
In Gabès, after their impressive performance in Zarzis against ESZ, Zliza, the second-to-last team, hosted CAB, a team also rejuvenated after their win against USBG in the previous round. There were no significant turns of events in the first half of this match. Eagerly awaiting the second half, the two teams continued to neutralize each other until the end. Who benefits from the draw? Certainly not ASG.
