Ghaith Zaâlouni, the Man of the Hour!

As the derby was on the verge of ending in a draw, Ghaith Zaâlouni, following a counter-attack, scored the winning goal and handed the 14th Tunisian championship title to Club Africain with just one day to go.

The Press - Although less aggressive than their hosts, the Club Africain players made the most of their visit: winning the derby and, as a result, being crowned champions of Tunisia with just one day to go in the championship.

Yesterday, Faouzi Benzarti's men played intelligently, opting for a low-block strategy for most of the game. This approach paid off. By retreating to their own half of the field, the Club Africain players significantly reduced the attacking opportunities for their opponents, "Sang et Or".

As the pressure of the result weighed heavily on the Esperance players, who needed to win to stay in the title race, they became increasingly desperate and their game was marred by numerous mistakes.

The Score: A disastrous performance in the opposing team's penalty area, similar to Kouceila Boualia's curled shot that narrowly missed Mouhib Chamekh's goal (19') or Florian Danho's powerful shot, intercepted by the Club Africain goalkeeper (40'). To be honest, the "Sang et Or" striker missed several opportunities, particularly in the second half. Each time, he made the difficult shot, but the final touch eluded him.

On the Club Africain side, Mouhib Chamekh put in a great performance. Until the end, he was the guardian of the Club Africain goal. This is evident from his superb save in the added time of Yan Sasse's shot (90'+13).

As the debate was heading towards a draw, Ghaith Zaâlouni took advantage of a counter-attack to get past Amanallah Memmiche and score the winning goal (90'+16).

Thanks to Ghaith Zaâlouni's goal, Club Africain is crowned champion of Tunisia with just one day to go, and this is their 14th title in history after 11 long years of waiting.
