EST's victory over JSOmrane has brought them back to within two points of CA, setting up a thrilling derby that will be the championship finale.
The "Sang et Or" were unconvincing throughout the match, holding their breath until the 78th minute against JSO. Already in a numerical advantage since Ben Amor's (at least severe) expulsion in the 26th minute, EST had to wait until the 77th minute to receive a penalty called by Mehrez Melki. The penalty was successfully converted by Meriah, securing three points and keeping EST's title hopes alive. Their destiny remains in their own hands, starting with the derby against CA, which will effectively be the championship finale.
It's worth noting that Jlassi was also expelled severely and will miss the derby on Sunday. The match was a nail-biter, with JSO contesting the refereeing of Mehrez Melki, who was mediocre and approximate in his decisions, with some not being very precise. Otherwise, EST ensured the essential in a match where they were under pressure following CA's victory the previous day. This victory comes after a series of draws that had cost EST their leadership.
ASM Secures Official Relegation Avoidance
In other matches, ASM secured their official relegation avoidance with a victory over CAB. Khaloui and Youssef Dao were the goal-scorers for ASM, who achieved their assigned objective: maintaining their place in the league. In the other two matches, there was no real stakes, with USM losing to ESMétlaoui. This victory brings ESMétlaoui closer to Monastiriens in the standings.
At Zarzis, ESS once again conceded a defeat to ESZ, who are regaining their colors in the final stretch of the championship. Boutmen's 10th-minute goal was not enough, and ESZ came back three times. A large score that confirms Etoile's decline.
