Capbonais to Fight for Survival in Ligue 1
With nothing to lose, the Capbonais will give it their all to save their skin in Ligue 1. It's up to them to resist and surprise the CA.
The Press — "As long as there's life, there's hope." This is now the motto of ASS coach Mohamed Arouri and his players, who are fighting back in the final stretch of the season. Indeed, the Avenir Sportif de Soliman's last two league outings have given Amanallah Mejhed and his teammates reason to smile, as they cling to the hope of staying in the league. And there's good reason to believe in it, especially after the team held its own against CSS, one of the top teams in the championship (1-1), before going on to win against JSO at Zouiten (1-0) last Sunday. This victory has given the ASS a much-needed boost of oxygen, especially after facing CSS, and now they're set to take on another top team in the championship, Club Africain.
With its status as leader, freshly earned, Club Africain, which is determined to win the Tunisian championship title, will be a tough opponent for the men of Mohamed Arouri. The match this afternoon promises to be a fierce battle on the pitch for the Capbonais.
The Key is Not to Lose
Despite the four points earned in the last two matches, the Capbonais are still not out of the woods. They are second-to-last in the standings, with only two points ahead of the bottom team, ASG, and four points behind JSK, the team in first place. A single mistake in the remaining four matches will be fatal. That's why they'll need to give it their all against Club Africain to avoid defeat at the very least. However, one player will be missing: goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifia. His absence will be felt, given his experience and importance to the team. Coach Arouri can count on experienced and fiery players like Amanallah Mejhed and Mannoubi Haddad, as well as in-form striker Bouassida.
This latter striker, Haddad as left winger, and Mejhed as left back, the Capbonais will give it their all to stay in the league. However, they'll need to avoid taking unnecessary risks, lest they pay the price against Club Africain's potent attack.
