Severe Sentences Handed Down in Tunis Taxi Driver Murder Case
The Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance has pronounced severe sentences in the case of the murder of a taxi driver committed by a mother, her son, and accomplices in 2024. The public prosecutor's office retained serious charges against the defendants, in accordance with Article 204 of the Penal Code, including:

- Theft with extreme violence
- Kidnapping with the use of a weapon
- Complicity in murder The Sidi Hassine Séjoumi judicial police brigade successfully arrested the four defendants during the summer of 2024, after discovering their involvement in the heinous crime.
Case Details
According to the case file, an elderly taxi driver had stopped at dawn before being attacked inside his vehicle by two young men, and then forcibly taken to an abandoned house where he was killed before being buried with the help of the culprit's mother.
Investigation and Arrests
During the investigation, the identity of one of the suspects was determined after discovering a shirt belonging to him at the crime scene, leading to his arrest in Jendouba. The second suspect was lured into a trap and arrested in Sousse. The successful investigation and subsequent arrests brought the perpetrators to justice, with the court handing down severe sentences for their involvement in the brutal murder.
