Twenty-Three Candidates Receive JLPT Awards in Tunisia

A Joyful Ceremony Honors Language Proficiency Achievements

Twenty-three candidates were recognized for their outstanding performance in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at a convivial ceremony hosted by the Japanese Embassy in Tunisia.

The awardees successfully passed the N5, N4, and N2 levels of this internationally recognized exam. On this occasion, each of them took the stage to express their gratitude in Japanese, acknowledging the support of those who helped them and reaffirming their commitment to continuing their language learning journey.

Japanese Ambassador to Tunisia, Saito Jun, commended the candidates' efforts and encouraged them to further develop their linguistic skills, highlighting their potential role as cultural bridges between Tunisia and Japan.

The next JLPT session is scheduled for December 6, 2026.

Book Donation Initiative Supports Language and Cultural Exchange

In conjunction with the ceremony, a book donation operation was also organized as part of the "Read Japan Project," an initiative by the Tokyo Foundation. Several Japanese-themed books, including "Akira" and "The Tale of Genji," were donated to the Bourguiba Institute of Living Languages.

This initiative aims to foster interest among Tunisian students and teachers in the Japanese language and culture, contributing to the dynamization of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
