Esperance Sportive de Tunis to Learn Quarterfinal Opponent in African Champions League
The Esperance Sportive de Tunis, the sole representative still in the running in the African Champions League, will discover its quarterfinal opponent on Tuesday during the draw scheduled to take place at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, starting at 12:00 PM, as announced by the African football governing body on its official website.
The Blood and Gold team had to wait until the 6th and final day of the group stage to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, defeating the Angolan team Petro Atletico (2-0) on Saturday in Radès. They finished 2nd in Group D with 9 points, behind leaders Stade Malien with 11 points. Petro Atletico took third place with 6 points, ahead of Simba, who finished last with 3 points.
