International Drug Trafficking Network Dismantled
Radio Mosaïque has learned that officers and agents from the Anti-Narcotics Division of the Judicial Police Directorate in El Gorjani have successfully dismantled an international network involved in the importation and sale of narcotics between Tunisia and the Netherlands.
The operation took place following meticulous surveillance of the network's members operating in the La Marsa region, including one of the drug barons who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison in a European country for trafficking before being extradited to Tunisia after serving 6 years of his sentence.
Based on precise information, the home of one of the network members in La Marsa was raided, allowing Anti-Narcotics Division agents to seize:
- 36 kg of raw cocaine
- 25,000 ecstasy tablets
A second raid on the main suspect's residence also resulted in the seizure of:
- 25,000 Tunisian dinars in cash
- Ecstasy tablets
- 3 luxury cars
This successful operation marks a significant blow to international drug trafficking and highlights the effectiveness of Tunisia's Anti-Narcotics Division in combating organized crime.
