Murder Investigation Underway in La Marsa, Tunisia
Authorities Probe Grisly Homicide Behind Hospital
The public prosecutor's office at the Tunis Court of First Instance ordered an investigation yesterday into the discovery of a man's body found dead behind a hospital in La Marsa, apparently murdered. The body has been transferred to the forensic medicine services to determine the exact cause of death.
According to a security source quoted by Diwan FM, a suspect has been arrested. It has been established that the suspect and several accomplices stole money and a mobile phone from the victim, a day laborer, during his nighttime passage behind the hospital. The perpetrators then allegedly assaulted and struck the victim on the head with stones, causing his death.
The extremely violent crime has sparked outrage among local residents and authorities. Investigations are ongoing to identify all perpetrators and understand the exact circumstances of the homicide.
