Tunis Court Sentences Housemaid to 20 Years in Prison for Murder
The criminal chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance has sentenced a housemaid to 20 years in prison for the murder of her employer. She was found guilty of stabbing her employer to death inside his home in La Marsa, a suburb in the north of the capital.

According to the case files, security agents in La Marsa had solved the crime in November 2024, after discovering the body of the homeowner with signs of a violent attack with a sharp object. The investigation quickly established the involvement of the housemaid in the murder.
Confession and Motive
After her arrest, the accused had confessed to the crime. She claimed that the victim had tried to abuse her in the absence of other family members, which led her to commit the act. She was then placed in provisional detention until her trial.
