Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority Suspends All Flights to and from Iran

The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Kuwait announced today the suspension and cancellation of all flights originating from the State of Kuwait and destined for Iran until further notice. This decision follows the current political and military situation in the region, which has led to the complete closure of Iranian airspace.

“The measure is taken in line with the strictest aviation safety standards and the international procedures that apply in such exceptional circumstances,” said Abdullah Al‑Rajhi, the Authority’s official spokesperson, in a press release.

Potential Impact on Other Routes

Al‑Rajhi added that additional flights may also be affected, as their original flight plans included over‑flights of Iranian airspace. This will cause delays on certain routes while new air corridors are reorganised and the safety of operations is guaranteed.

Ongoing Monitoring

The Authority assured that it is monitoring the situation 24/7, coordinating with local and international authorities. Any new developments regarding the resumption of flights will be communicated later.
