National Petroleum Distribution Company "AGIL" Ensures Strategic Supply of Fuels and Gas Across Tunisia
The National Petroleum Distribution Company "AGIL" guarantees a strategic supply of fuels and gas throughout Tunisia, while dominating the aviation kerosene market with over 70% market share. This leadership position is accompanied by a vision focused on renewable energies.
Khaled Bettine, CEO of AGIL, stated to Mosaïque that the company plays a central role in supporting national events and contributing to the development of tourism in Tunisia, particularly in the southern regions. The leader emphasized that this type of contribution strengthens both domestic and international tourism.
Key Contributions and Initiatives
- AGIL has an extensive network of stations covering all regions of Tunisia, including hard-to-reach, coastal, and mountainous areas, to ensure the supply of fuels and seasonal gas to families, especially during the winter peak.
- The company takes all necessary measures to secure the required quantities, maintaining sufficient stocks for two to three days in each of its distribution centers to avoid supply disruptions and delivery delays.
- Daily gas consumption in Tunisia reaches approximately 180,000 bottles, with AGIL supplying around 70,000, and the rest being distributed by other companies.
Aviation Sector and Future Strategies
- In the aviation sector, the company controls over 70% of the market for refueling aircraft with kerosene in Tunisia, working with local and international companies, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, and several French airlines. Contracts with these companies are concluded annually, with the possibility of renewal based on demand.
- Regarding future strategies, Khaled Bettine explained that the company has been working since 2022 on developing the production of renewable and clean energies, including solar energy and other sustainable energies, as part of a strategic plan for the period 2026-2030.
Network Expansion and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure
- AGIL has more than 228 terrestrial stations, with around 8 stations equipped with electric vehicle charging points. An expansion plan aims to increase this number to 35 stations in the north, center, and coastal areas to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in Tunisia.
