Ongoing Instability and Strong Winds Disrupt Maritime Traffic
The situation of meteorological instability and strong winds continues, resulting in the disruption of maritime traffic between Sfax and the island of Kerkennah since last night, Monday. The new Kerkennah transport company announced the cancellation of all scheduled maritime crossings for the rest of the evening of yesterday, November 24, 2025, due to difficult weather conditions.
Cancellation of Morning Crossings on Tuesday
Due to the persistence of bad weather, the company also canceled this morning, Tuesday, the two scheduled crossings from Sfax to Kerkennah at 04:14 and 06:00.
Disruption of Crossings in the Opposite Direction
At the same time, the departures from the Sidi Youssef maritime station in Kerkennah to Sfax at 06:00 and 08:00 were canceled, resulting in a complete halt of maritime traffic in both directions. The island of Kerkennah has thus been isolated from the outside world since last night, waiting for an improvement in weather conditions and the resumption of maritime navigation.
