Increased Date Production Expected This Season
Mohamed Abdelatif, head of the plant production department at the Regional Directorate of Agricultural Development, confirmed that the current season has seen an increase in date production estimates, which are expected to exceed 290,000 tonnes. This total includes approximately 280,000 tonnes of Deglet Nour, compared to only 250,000 tonnes (all varieties combined, including Deglet Nour) last season. Mr. Abdelatif specified that the harvest indicators are, so far, positive, particularly in terms of quality.
