Food‑Safety Authorities Seize 112 kg of Red Meat and 18 kg of Spoiled Fish in Kébili During Ramadan
In a statement given today, Thursday, 5 March 2026, to Radio Diwan FM, Imed Ben Salah, regional coordinator of the National Food‑Safety Authority (INSSPA) in Kébili, announced that inspection teams under the Authority’s jurisdiction have confiscated 112 kg of red meat for non‑compliance with hygiene standards.
Ben Salah added that the seizure operation also included 18 kg of spoiled fish emitting foul odors.
The official explained that, following 711 inspection visits carried out by INSSPA brigades during the first half of Ramadan, five written warnings were issued to offending vendors and three seizure reports were filed.
Looking ahead, the INSSPA regional coordinator said that night‑time inspection teams will be deployed from the second half of Ramadan onward to monitor pastry‑selling and manufacturing outlets, anticipating a sharp increase in customer traffic up to the eve of Eid al‑Fitr.
