New Electricity Generation Plant in Kairouan to Enter Operation by End of June
Tunisia's state-owned electricity and gas company, STEG, announced on Friday that the Zaafrana electricity generation plant in the Kairouan governorate will begin operation by the end of June. According to Anis Besbes, director of distribution for the Centre region at STEG, the new infrastructure will improve energy supply to the region's residents and enhance the stability of the network, particularly during the summer months when demand is high.
Key Features of the New Plant
- The plant will be connected to 18 power lines aimed at consolidating the network in several areas of the governorate, including Kairouan-ville, Cherarda, Bouhajla, Nasrallah, Menzel Mhiri, and Zaafrana.
