Solar Energy Production in Tunisia: A New Milestone

Ali Kenzari, President of the National Syndicate Chamber for the Installation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Equipment, announced that the Kairouan solar power plant will come into operation next week with a capacity of 100 megawatts.

During his intervention on National Radio today, Ali Kenzari emphasized the importance and role of the private sector in promoting the renewable energy sector and supporting electricity production from solar and wind power. He mentioned that there are approximately 800 companies in Tunisia specialized in the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic equipment.

Kenzari indicated that it is planned to produce 4800 megawatts by 2030 and 8500 megawatts by 2035.

The guest on National Radio recalled the organization of the International Energy Transition Exhibition at the headquarters of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (UTICA) on November 26, 27, and 28. He specified that a free training session will be organized on the last day of the exhibition for renewable energy equipment installers, study offices, and control offices.
