Kairouan Municipality Installs 850 Energy-Efficient Lamps Across the City

Kairouan, Tunisia - The municipality of Kairouan has recently installed 850 energy-efficient lamps at the city's entrances, on various roads, and in several public squares.

This initiative, which is expected to save approximately 110,000 dinars in public lighting costs, will benefit around 100,000 residents in the region by optimizing electricity consumption, improving lighting quality, and enhancing road safety.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Environment on its official Facebook page, this project is part of the "Kairouan: A Sustainable, Ecological, and Intelligent City through Energy Efficiency" initiative, which is co-financed by the Ministry of Environment and the Global Environment Facility, and implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme for the benefit of the Kairouan municipality.

This project aims to promote sustainable development and reduce the city's carbon footprint, making Kairouan a model for environmentally friendly urban planning in the region.
